Last Updated: January 1, 2026

Canticle ("we," "us," or "our") is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious corporation. This policy outlines how we handle information on www.canticle.org to ensure a transparent experience that aligns with our religious mission and corporate bylaws.

1. Our Mission

In accordance with our Bylaws, Canticle’s purpose is to cultivate connection to God through the experience of sacred heritage. We foster Catholic sacred music as defined by magisterial teaching—specifically Gregorian chant and sacred polyphony—teaching the gift of sung prayer to children, teens, and the faithful.

2. Information We Collect & Use

We collect minimal information to fulfill our religious and educational purposes:

  • Voluntary Information: Name, email, and contact details provided by parents or guardians when registering students for training programs, signing up for newsletters, or submitting scholarship applications.

  • Donations: Financial contributions are processed by secure third-party providers. In line with our Bylaws, we maintain adequate and correct books and records of account for all transactions.

  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to help families find our programs. These tools use "cookies" to collect standard internet log information.

3. Google Ad Grants Compliance

As a participant in the Google Ad Grants program, we disclose:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to our site.

  • Opt-Out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

4. No Sale of Personal Information

Canticle does not sell, rent, or lease its member or donor lists to third parties. Data is only shared with trusted service providers (e.g., email platforms) to carry out our operations, or as required by California Nonprofit Religious Corporation Law.

5. Children & Parents

Our website is intended for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13. All student information is provided by parents, who may request to review the information provided about their family.

6. Your Rights (California)

Consistent with California law and our corporate governance, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected.

  • Request Deletion of your information, subject to our legal obligations to maintain corporate and tax records (such as donor rolls required by our Treasurer per Article IV of our Bylaws).
